Jefferson's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

39-year old American forward Davon Jefferson (203-F-1986) put on an amazing game in the last week for Cangrejeros de Santurce and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 17.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds, while his team beat Aguada (#3, 10-10) 108-93. Cangrejeros maintains the 5th position in their group in the Puerto Rican league. Santurce is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-12 record. Jefferson just recently signed at Cangrejeros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. University of Southern California graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jefferson is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.3rpg) and averages solid 65.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last week was Darius Bazley (206-F-2000) of Leones de Ponce. He is American forward in his first season at Ponce. In the last game Bazley recorded an impressive double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Leones lost that game 80-85 to slightly higher-ranked Carolina (#3, 12-9). Ponce managed to keep the same 5th spot in Group A. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-14 record. Bazley is one of the most experienced players at Ponce and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) of Mets de Guaynabo (#4). Romero scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Romero's great performance the Mets lost 92-109 to #2 ranked Caguas. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Guaynabo ranking at the top of Group B, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Romero could help Guaynabo to bring them higher in the standings. Romero has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.6ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 9.1rpg (5th best). Ismael Romero has also Puerto Rican passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

9. Jordan Murphy (200-F/C-1997) of Ponce - 19 points and 7 rebounds
10. Montrezl Harrell (203-C-1994) of San German - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
